INTERFACE Cabling : (System cabling and wiring interface)

A wide range of automation equipment is used for control processes. Whether it is the startup of a small system with just a few I/O signals or a complex power station, both applications share a common requirement- the signals from the automation equipment must be connected to the field level as per the industry standards. INTERFACE cabling offers two wiring techniques: the VARIOFACE system cabling and the VARIOFACE wiring interfaces.

The VARIOFACE system cabling is a cabling concept that was developed especially to connect to various automation equipment. The system cabling comprises three harmonized components:

  • Front adapters with an integrated pin strip (IEC 60603-13) are plugged onto the PLC I/O cards. They replace connection methods such as screw or crimp connection.
